BOWLES
Boulder Guide

(Climb Guide)
(Boulder Guide)

This guide only shows the better problems. There are lots of variations to these problems..

Fandango Wall

This is the main bouldering area at Bowles. It is an overhanging wall, littered with lots and lots of holds. There is almost always somebody sitting underneath it,  but rarely climbing on it.

The holds can be mixed and matched, but there is nothing easier than 5c, just a lot harder.

Patella Wall

A very good wall for traversing, but also some decent problems.

Move Grade
Traverse under main break 5c
1 & 2, 4, 3, 6 6a
One hand dyno, 2, 6 6b
2, 5, 7 5c
8 & 9, 10, 11,12 6a

Larchant Wall

Lots of people simply walk past this wall. Admittedly there are a lot of holds, but if you are innovative then you can come up with some excellent problems.

If you keep your hands under the turquoise line the traverse is 6b. Hands under the dark blue line is 6a.

Move Grade
Traverse under turquoise line 6b
Traverse under dark blue line 6a
1, 2 5c
3, 4 6a
5, 6, 7, 8 6a
9, 10, 11 6a

Other Areas

The nose at the start of Target has some very good problems, although they are actually direct starts to target. The blue numbered holds is hard 6a. The black numbered holds is also 6a. The climber is just about to go for the top.
